I don't believe in passive learning or reading from a textbook. My online lessons are highly structured, interactive, and split into three deliberate phases to maximize retention:

1. The Starter (10 Mins): A high-impact recall test or homework review to ensure past topics are locked into long-term memory.

2. Core Content (20 Mins): A crisp, visual breakdown of the specification topic. No walls of text—just clear, logic-based explanations of complex concepts.

3. Exam Application (30 Mins): We dive straight into real past-paper questions. I teach students exactly how to decode exam language, identify command words, and hit the exact mark-scheme keywords examiners look for.

Why this works: Every lesson is mapped precisely to the exam specification, using hand-crafted resources and active recall to teach students exactly how to decode questions and hit critical mark-scheme keywords for top grades.

  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I developed my interest in Biology and Chemistry during my A-levels when I started to understand the subjects in a more meaningful way.

Tutoring began when my mother started running her French school, where I supported her as an assistant due to being a native speaker. From there, tutoring developed naturally as I gained experience helping students. Over time, this grew into teaching 400+ students and helping students across the UK, as well as supporting students through my TikTok platform with over 8000 followers, where I regularly receive messages and help students across the UK and abroad.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

My expertise lies in GCSE and A-level Chemistry and Biology.

Alongside this, I also teach Physics, Maths, and French. Some memory-heavy topics can be less engaging, but I work on making them simple, structured, and easier to retain.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

My mother, a French teacher, has been the best role model for me. Her passion for teaching is something I’ve learned from and continue to be inspired by.

I’ve also had many teachers who supported me during stressful periods of my A-levels, including UCAT preparation, personal statement writing, and work experience.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor needs patience, clear communication, and the ability to adapt to different students’ learning styles. It’s important to explain concepts in a simple way and ensure the student truly understands, rather than just memorising.

Equally, strong subject knowledge alone is not enough — the ability to explain that knowledge effectively is what makes a tutor truly effective. A knowledgeable teacher who cannot teach well is not as valuable as someone who can communicate ideas clearly.

It’s also important to understand exam pressure. I can relate to this myself as I’m still a medical student and regularly sit exams, so I understand how stressful this period can be. A good tutor should not only teach content but also build confidence and reduce that stress.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

During my A-levels, I used to just read from textbooks, which didn’t help much. I then switched to using a whiteboard and marker, writing out everything I knew again and again until I could recall the full specification without missing anything. This really boosted my confidence, as I was both remembering and understanding the content.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

Exam pressure is a big challenge — wanting to perform well, make your parents proud, and deal with the stress and uncertainty at the same time. It can feel like a rollercoaster, and I still experience this in university. But we’re in this together, and that’s why I aim to support students through both the workload and the pressure.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

Teaching is my passion, and I love every minute of it! I enjoy watching students’ confidence and engagement grow, becoming more focused and less stressed about subjects that once felt like a nightmare for them.

That moment when a concept finally clicks is what makes teaching so rewarding for me, and it’s the reason why teaching is truly my passion.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof?

GCSEs and A-levels are something everyone has to go through — almost like a “canon event.” However, the students who succeed are usually the ones who turn their studies into something they enjoy, rather than seeing it as a burden. They stay focused, look forward to what comes next, and stay motivated through the effort they put in.

That’s where I come in. Having gone through these exams myself and still experiencing similar pressures as a medical student, I can relate to what students are feeling. In difficult moments, I help turn that stress and frustration into motivation and engagement, bringing students back into the right mindset.

That’s what makes me a Superprof — helping students not just perform better, but approach their studies with confidence and a more positive attitude.
