About Mitchell
With more than 19 years of experience as a Drum tutor, I specialize in guiding college students who want to develop strong rhythm control and confident performance skills. My lessons are designed to be clear, engaging, and effective. My teaching approach is based on creativity, discipline, and mentorship.
I break down complex drum patterns into simple steps and guide students patiently through practice. I encourage students to think independently and improve their musical awareness. I use innovative methods such as slow-tempo mastery, groove variations, and limb independence exercises. I also include listening tasks and real-song learning to improve timing and feel.
Accountability plays a key role in my teaching. I provide structured practice plans and review progress regularly. This helps students stay consistent and confident. In addition to drums, I teach rhythm theory, basic notation, time signatures, and stage confidence. My goal is to help students become skilled and independent drummers.

Creativity plays a major role in my lessons. Students explore different grooves, rhythm variations, and styles. Song-based learning helps students apply techniques in real musical situations.
As a mentor and critical thinker, I help students understand timing, coordination, and rhythm structure. Complex ideas are broken into simple steps so students can learn comfortably and confidently.
Accountability is maintained through regular practice plans and progress tracking. I help students stay consistent and responsible in their practice habits.
In addition to drums, I also teach related subjects such as basic music theory, rhythm notation, and tempo training. My aim is to help students grow into skilled and confident musicians.
