About Gonçalo
Singer, songwriter and session guitar player Gonçalo Malafaya Almeida studied Jazz and Modern Music at Universidade Lusíada, in Lisbon (2012-2015) and then completed the MA in Songwriting at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. As a guitarist, he was taught by some of the best Portuguese guitar players and teachers such as Mário Delgado, André Fernandes and Paulo “Bola” Gonçalves. He also attended masterclasses given by world-wide known musicians such as Richard Bona, Guthrie Govan, Miles Okazaki, David Liebman, among others. As a songwriter, he attended several lectures and seminars with some of the best in the industry: Andrew West, Pat Pattison and Ralph Murphy. He did the Masters in Songwriting at the ICMP London (2016/2017) staying there as a teacher after.
