Miss Sharmela "Mela" was my teacher during my third year of high school. As I've learned and participated in her class discussions, I can say that she is a patient, accommodating, organized, and approachable teacher. She makes her lesson materials engaging and easy to understand. She is very patient with all types of learners, and encourages learners to share their thoughts and ideas with the topic being shared. She has made the Filipino subject easier for me, as I've always struggled with the subject during my earlier years in high school. Miss Mela always makes her discussions interesting. A session of class with her always opens new ideas and learnings to her students.

During the two years that Miss Mela was with us, I’m very thankful that Miss Mela was able to create a safe and warm environment for us. She made us feel that aside from being our teacher, we have her as a friend, parent, and mentor. She also made us feel that speaking up about certain situations is okay.
What I admire most about Miss Mela is her passion and dedication. From my experience, we never have to ask Miss Mela for our lesson’s materials which is because she does everything ahead of time. I’m very thankful that she provides us with creative and informative materials. Additionally, she also makes sure send us motivational messages from time to time.
Moreover, as her student, I can say that her teaching method is very versatile and it’s one of the best things about her. In her classes, we engage in different types of activities such as ice breakers, brainstorming, project-based learning, and essays. These activities led us to develop skills that are essential in our further journey as students. There are times that some topics are complex, but Miss Mela has that ability to make it easier to understand and comprehend.
In her classes, you will never be afraid of speaking up. Miss Mela constantly reminds us that making mistakes is okay and that it’s a good thing because we always learn a lesson from it. Also, she always makes us feel heard.
I have a lot of things to thank Miss Mela for. She taught me a lot of lessons that an academic book could never. In her class discussions, Miss Mela always makes sure to relate our topic to real-life situations, from there we can get valuable life lessons. As we, her students, face challenges, she never failed to listen and provide us with some advice. Her constant support, enthusiasm, and belief in me has undeniably pushed me to give my best in everything.
I’m very thankful that Miss Mela inspired me to go out of my comfort zone. She made me realize that there’s more to life than the bad things. In a good way, she changed my perspective about certain things.
I will always be thankful for what she has done for us. I believe that no word in the dictionary will be able to measure how thankful I am that Miss Mela became my teacher, mentor, parent, and friend. I believe that she’s the professor that made a mark on my whole life. And I’m very thankful for that. As she starts this new journey, I am sure that she’ll be able to make a mark on others, too.
As Miss Mela’s former student, I can proudly say that I learned from the best.

In my opinion, Miss Mela is one of the most professional teachers that I've encountered during high-school, she's always organized and well-prepared during her classes. At first, I was fascinated, during my first class in her subject, I can tell that she has a good understanding of our topic, she's also good at time management, she can finish discussing one of the topics in her subject in the given time and maybe even earlier, which gives the students more time to do their Performance Tasks
