About Tyler
I am a hardworking tutor that is always open to feedback and suggestions. I make sure that the student is the center of the learning experience, which means that tutoring is more of a joint collaboration between two people instead of a superior dictating a student's actions. As of 2023, I am an incoming freshman attending the University of Chicago in the fall.

I follow a textbook curriculum but personalize various homework assignments based on the goals of the student. Expect weekly passage reading assignments, vocabulary review, overview of grammar in class, writing practice, and/or character writing (whichever combination best fits your needs). All my specific homework assignments are personalized to the individual, and I have 2 years of experience working with students in Chinese already. As a student of New Trier High School, I had the honor of receiving the Greg Harris Memorial Award for Excellence in Tutoring.
I am capable of teaching Mandarin Chinese in simplified or traditional Chinese. Whether a beginner in the language or a student aiming to excel on the AP Chinese Language & Culture exam, please feel free to reach out to me!
