About Yang

Hi! I'm Yang, a native Mandarin speaker from China who has been living in Australia since 2017.
I have a postgraduate academic background in science and technology, and I'm passionate about education, language learning and cultural exchange.
Having experienced the challenges of learning and communicating in a second language myself, I understand how important patience, encouragement and a supportive learning environment can be.
I believe learning Mandarin should be more than just memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules. It's about building confidence, understanding a different culture and developing the ability to communicate naturally in everyday situations.
I'm friendly, patient and approachable, and I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds.
Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to improve your conversational Mandarin, I'd love to help you make progress and enjoy the learning journey!

About the lesson

Want to speak Mandarin with your partner's family, travel confidently in China, or simply enjoy everyday conversations?
My lessons are designed for adult beginners who want to learn practical Mandarin for real-life situations.
Instead of overwhelming you with complicated grammar and endless vocabulary lists, we'll focus on useful expressions and conversations you can actually use.
Depending on your goals, we can practise ordering food, introducing yourself, shopping, travelling, workplace conversations or communicating with Chinese-speaking friends and family.
My approach is simple: learn useful phrases, practise speaking, receive feedback and gradually build your confidence.
I understand the challenges of communicating in a second language, having lived in Australia since 2017.
Whether you're starting from zero or already know some Mandarin, I'd love to help you become more comfortable using Chinese in everyday life.
