About Daniel
Hello! I’m a licensed Civil Engineer and experienced Mathematics instructor with a strong background in mathematical problem-solving and engineering education.
I have experience teaching at a Civil Engineering licensure examination review center, where I helped students understand complex mathematical and engineering concepts and prepare for challenging examinations. This experience strengthened my ability to explain difficult topics clearly, break complicated problems into manageable steps, and adapt my teaching approach to different students.
I teach Mathematics to students from high school to college, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, Engineering Mathematics, and other related topics.
My teaching style is patient, structured, and student-centered. I believe students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind a solution rather than simply memorizing formulas. I use clear explanations, practical examples, step-by-step problem solving, and guided practice to help students build both their knowledge and confidence.
Whether you are struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an exam, working on difficult problems, or simply want to strengthen your mathematical skills, I will work with you at your own pace and help you become a more confident and independent problem solver.
Let’s make Mathematics simpler, more understandable, and more enjoyable to learn!

I believe Mathematics becomes much easier when students understand the logic behind a solution instead of simply memorizing formulas. My goal as a tutor is to make challenging math topics clear, understandable, and practical through patient explanations and step-by-step problem solving.
A. My Teaching Method and Techniques
I use a student-centered and step-by-step teaching approach. I first identify the student's current level, strengths, and areas that need improvement. From there, I adjust my explanations and exercises according to the student's needs.
Rather than simply giving students formulas or answers, I explain why a particular formula or method works and how it can be applied to different types of problems.
My teaching techniques include:
- Step-by-step explanations of mathematical concepts
- Guided problem solving followed by independent practice
- Simple examples before progressing to more challenging problems
- Practical and real-world applications of Mathematics
- Visual aids, diagrams, and illustrations when useful
- Practice exercises designed around the student's level
- Reviewing mistakes to identify gaps in understanding
- Exam and test preparation strategies
- Multiple approaches to solving a problem when applicable
I encourage students to ask questions and never feel embarrassed about making mistakes. I believe mistakes are an important part of the learning process.
B. Typical Lesson Plan
My typical lesson starts with a short review of previous topics or prerequisite concepts. This helps ensure that the student has the foundation needed for the new lesson.
Next, I introduce the topic and explain the important concepts and formulas in a simple and organized way. I demonstrate several examples step by step, explaining the reasoning behind each step.
After the demonstration, we solve problems together. As the student becomes more comfortable, I gradually allow them to solve problems independently while I provide guidance when needed.
At the end of the lesson, we review the key concepts and work through a few questions to check the student's understanding. I also identify areas that require additional practice and suggest exercises or topics to review before the next lesson.
C. What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
My background as a Civil Engineer gives me a strong foundation in Mathematics and analytical problem solving. In addition to my engineering experience, I have experience teaching in a Civil Engineering licensure examination review center, where I helped students understand and solve challenging engineering and mathematical problems.
This experience has taught me how to explain complex concepts in a clear and structured way, especially when students are preparing for important examinations.
I also understand that students learn differently. Some students need more examples, while others learn better through visual explanations or hands-on problem solving. I am patient and willing to explain a concept using different approaches until the student truly understands it.
My goal is not simply to help students get the correct answer. I want them to develop the confidence, reasoning skills, and problem-solving ability to solve similar problems on their own.
D. Who My Lessons Are For
I teach Mathematics to students ranging from high school to college level.
My lessons can be adapted for:
High school Mathematics
Algebra
Plane and Solid Geometry
Trigonometry
Analytic Geometry
Pre-Calculus
Differential & Integral Calculus
Differential Equations
Statistics
College Mathematics
Engineering Mathematics
Civil Engineering-related Mathematics
Statics of Rigid Bodies
Strength of Materials
Theory of Structures
Reinforced Concrete Design (NSCP 2015)
Structural Steel Design (NSCP 2015)
Hydraulics
Geotechnical Engineering
Exam and test preparation
Students who need help with assignments or difficult topics
Students who want to strengthen their mathematical foundation
Students preparing for more advanced Mathematics or civil engineering subjects
Whether you are struggling with the basics, preparing for an exam, working on difficult assignments, or simply want to become more confident in Mathematics, I can tailor the lessons to your current level and goals.
My teaching philosophy is simple: understand the concept, learn the process, practice the skill, and eventually solve the problem independently.
