About Marcelo
I was a performing artist for over 20 years as a singer and guitar player with various Melbourne-based groups. I performed in numerous venues and festivals in Australia and overseas. In 2013 I pursued a change in careers and became a full-time university student. By 2018 I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and a Graduate Certificate in Literary Classics from Griffith University, as well as a Master of Applied Linguistics (TESOL) from University of New England. I am a native Spanish speaker but have lived in Australia since 1976. I recently completed a professional placement at Lismore TAFE, teaching adult migrants. I got great feedback from students and staff. I also received a high distinction for my TESOL major.

I try to adapt my teaching to the needs of students. Therefore, if a student needs to improve their conversational skills, I will mainly focus on spoken language. However, if a students needs to improve their chances of entering university, I will focus more on written language.
