About Brittany
I have been tutoring chemistry online for 3 years, working primarily with high school AP and IB Chemistry students and college freshmen in general and organic chemistry courses. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Chemistry is a subject that rewards deep understanding over shallow memorization, and that philosophy is at the heart of everything I do as a tutor. I know from personal experience how frustrating it feels to study hard for a chemistry exam and still feel unprepared when you sit down to take it, and that experience drives me to make sure every student I work with has both the conceptual understanding and the smart, accurate exam technique they need to actually perform well when it matters. Over my 3 years of chemistry tutoring I have helped students raise their AP Chemistry scores significantly, helped college freshmen pass difficult first-year organic chemistry courses, and helped students go from dreading chemistry to approaching it with genuine confidence and a clear strategy. I take a very focused and result-oriented approach to every tutoring session, always making sure we are working on the most impactful material, solving the most relevant problems, and building the deepest possible understanding within the time we have together.

My chemistry lessons are result-oriented and built around giving every student the smart problem-solving techniques and deep conceptual understanding they need to perform confidently and accurately in any chemistry course or high-stakes exam. I work with high school chemistry and AP Chemistry students as well as college freshmen in general, organic, and specialized chemistry. My lessons cover general chemistry fundamentals, organic chemistry reactions and mechanisms, functional groups and nomenclature, biochemistry basics including proteins, enzymes and lipids, electrochemistry and redox reactions, food chemistry and the science behind food processing, industrial chemistry, introductory chemical engineering concepts, stoichiometry, acid-base chemistry, thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, and AP Chemistry exam preparation. I specialize in working through past exam questions, practice problem sets, and advanced chemistry challenges so students develop accurate and reliable problem-solving techniques they can apply confidently under real exam conditions.
