About Harper
My teaching approach in Chemistry is systematic and clear, designed to make even the most complex topics easy to understand. I focus on breaking down structures, reactions, and concepts step by step. I cover subjects like organic chemistry nomenclature, functional groups, reaction mechanisms, stereochemistry, and isomerism. Lessons begin with building a strong foundation in naming compounds and identifying functional groups. From there, I guide students through reaction mechanisms, showing not just what happens, but why. I use visual aids, examples, and diagrams to make abstract ideas easier to grasp. I emphasize the connection between structure and reactivity, which is essential for mastering organic synthesis. Students receive consistent feedback, helping them track progress and focus on areas that need improvement. I have experience supporting environmental and marine science students in excelling at organic chemistry. Together, we explore carbon compounds and their transformations in a clear, engaging way. My goal is to help students understand, apply, and master organic chemistry concepts confidently.

I am a Chemistry tutor with over 2 years of experience and a BSc in Chemistry, passionate about helping university students excel in quantum chemistry. My goal is to make complex concepts accessible and engaging. I focus on atomic and molecular orbitals, bonding theories, and spectroscopic transitions.
I use illustrative models and step-by-step theoretical derivations to simplify abstract ideas. My experience includes teaching both chemistry majors and physical science students, allowing me to tailor lessons to different levels and learning styles. I emphasize understanding rather than memorization, helping students see the logic behind every concept.
In my lessons, students explore molecular symmetry, electronic transitions, and hybridization in a clear and structured way. I integrate visual aids and practical examples to make learning intuitive. My approach builds confidence and develops critical thinking skills needed for mastering quantum chemistry.
Students learn to predict and explain chemical behavior from electronic structure. Each session is interactive, encouraging questions and active problem-solving. If you want to master quantum chemistry and understand the electronic basis of chemical properties, I am here to guide you every step of the way.
