About David
Hi, I'm David, a current Actuarial Science student at the University of Cape Town with a genuine passion for mathematics and helping others succeed. I achieved 99% for IEB Core Mathematics, 96% for AP Mathematics and 90% for AP Statistics, and I know first-hand what it takes to perform at the highest level.
Throughout school, I enjoyed helping classmates understand concepts they found difficult, which showed me that good teaching is about more than simply knowing the content—it's about explaining it in a way that makes sense to each individual student. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
As an Actuarial Science student, mathematics is at the core of my degree, allowing me to keep my skills sharp while developing strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Whether you're looking to improve your marks, prepare for exams, or work towards a distinction, I'm committed to helping you reach your goals. I was awarded Dean's List recognition at UCT for my academic performance, reflecting my commitment to excellence and disciplined study habits.

I offer personalised IEB Mathematics tutoring for students who want to improve their understanding, confidence and results. Having achieved 99% for Core Mathematics, 96% for AP Mathematics and 90% for AP Statistics, I understand what it takes to excel in the IEB curriculum. As a current Actuarial Science student at UCT, I use mathematics every day and focus on building strong fundamentals rather than memorising methods. Lessons are tailored to each student's needs, whether they are struggling with concepts, preparing for tests, or aiming for distinctions. I explain difficult topics in a clear, patient and structured way, work through exam-style questions, and share the problem-solving techniques that helped me achieve top marks. My goal is to help students become confident, independent thinkers who can tackle even the most challenging maths questions with confidence.
