About Jessica
My guitar teaching approach is rooted in creativity, expression, and clear technique. I guide students to build strong fundamentals—chords, scales, picking, and strumming—while helping them connect deeply with the music they play. Each lesson is shaped around the student’s goals, whether that’s leading a band, playing at church, or writing original songs. I place a strong focus on musical storytelling, using dynamics, tone, and phrasing to shape each performance. We explore how tension and release can bring a song to life and how theme development creates memorable solos and compositions. I also teach how to use rhythm creatively and build fretboard fluency to play with more freedom. Theory is always taught in a simple, useful way—so students can understand what they’re playing and make better musical choices. I encourage students to express emotion through their playing, not just play the notes. For those who dream of performing or inspiring others through music, I help turn that passion into confident, skilled playing. No matter your level, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow step by step. My lessons are flexible, supportive, and always encouraging. With over 4 years of experience teaching guitar both in-person and online, I bring a blend of academic training and real-world expertise to every lesson. I hold a degree in Music with a focus on performance and guitar pedagogy, which grounds my approach in both theory and artistry.
