About Jacqueline
I am a professional classical singer and voice teacher originally from Chile, now based in Edmonton, Alberta. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance and a Master’s degree in Voice Performance from the University of Alberta.
I’ve been working as a performer for over 20 years and teaching for more than 15, and over time I’ve developed a strong focus on helping singers build a voice that feels efficient, healthy, and expressive, without losing individuality or musicality.
My approach is informed by current understanding of voice science and pedagogy, and it combines technical training with artistic and practical performance experience. I work with singers at all stages, whether they are just starting to explore their voice or preparing for auditions, performances, exams, or a professional path.
I’ve had the opportunity to work students across many styles, including pop, rock, musical theatre, jazz, funk, classical repertoire, opera, baroque, and art song, and I really enjoy helping singers adapt their technique to different musical demands in a way that feels natural and sustainable.
What matters most to me is helping each student understand their own voice better, so they can sing with more freedom, coordination, and confidence, and feel more connected to what they want to express musically.

Every lesson is designed around the individual singer in front of me, so what we work on always depends on your voice, your goals, and where you are in your development.
In a typical lesson, we usually start by gently preparing the body and voice, so you can sing with more ease and coordination. From there, we move into vocal exercises that are specifically chosen to support your technical needs, whether that’s building consistency, expanding your range, improving flexibility, or developing more balance and control.
We then apply those ideas directly to repertoire, because I believe technique and expression should always work together. This is where we connect the technical work to real music, style, and performance.
I work with singers across all levels and genres, and although my background is classical, I also have extensive experience with Contemporary Commercial Music styles. If you are interested in things like belt, twang, or other contemporary vocal qualities, we approach them in a way that prioritizes vocal efficiency and long-term vocal health.
I continue to refine by updating my teaching approach regularly so I can offer students current, practical, and effective tools. My goal is always to help you build a voice that feels more coordinated, flexible, and free, while also helping you grow as a musician and performer.
Online lessons are structured to be just as interactive and effective as in-person sessions, with clear guidance and tools you can use in your own practice between lessons.

Perfect! Jacqueline is an incredible teacher with a layered understanding of the voice and how to use it to add colour to your singing while maintaining good technique.
