About Kia
I am a dedicated piano tutor with 7 years of teaching experience and a history of successfully guiding over 300 students. I work with high school students, college learners, and adults who want to gain strong piano skills or learn music for personal enjoyment.
My teaching philosophy is built on communication, patience, and clear guidance. I focus on understanding each student’s strengths and challenges so I can create lessons that feel comfortable and effective. I keep my explanations simple and use practical methods that help students improve step by step.
My lessons include sight-reading, rhythm training, chords, scales, finger techniques, and expression. I also help students understand music theory in a friendly and easy manner. Many learners have shown impressive growth, performing confidently in school programs or developing their own style of playing.
I use songs, examples, and exercises that match each student’s interest, making the learning process enjoyable. I aim to help every learner reach their goals while building confidence and a long-lasting love for music.

My Piano teaching approach focuses on helping students learn through clear communication, flexible methods, and practical musical experiences. I take time to understand each student’s strengths and weaknesses. This helps me adapt lessons to their needs. Some students need slower explanations, while others want creative challenges. By adjusting my approach, I make sure every learner feels supported.
Besides Piano, I teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Sight-Reading, Rhythm Studies, Chords, Scales, and Performance Techniques. I teach these subjects step by step, always connecting them to real songs or useful examples. For instance, when introducing intervals, I use familiar tunes to help students recognize them by ear. When teaching sight-reading, I use small exercises that gradually increase in difficulty, so students never feel overwhelmed. The goal is to help learners understand how the technical side of music links to actual playing.
I also use real-life examples and simple case studies from famous artists, performances, and practice routines. These help students understand how professionals think and how they can improve their own practice. Communication is always open, and I encourage students to share their challenges and goals. With consistent guidance, creative exercises, and supportive teaching, I help students build a solid foundation and enjoy the process of becoming confident musicians.
