About Oorvi
My name is Oorvi, and I am a Master's student in Social Sciences currently based in Mumbai. I am organized, punctual, and passionate about languages, and I aim to help students learn French with an emphasis on consistency, confidence, and making the learning process enjoyable.
I completed four levels of French at Alliance Française de Pune and earned my DELF B2 certification in 2023. Although I am new to teaching, I bring authentic, real-world experience with the language thanks to a year spent living in Paris as part of a dual Master's degree at Sciences Po. During that time, I used French every day with local residents, French friends, and while working on an academic project in collaboration with a French company. This immersion gave me not only strong language skills but also a deep understanding of native pronunciation, everyday spoken French, contemporary vocabulary, and French culture.

My lessons are structured around the Cosmopolite textbook, which provides a balanced approach to listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Every lesson is carefully planned with clear objectives, grammar and vocabulary activities, and exercises tailored to each student's level. I place particular emphasis on speaking practice because I believe regular conversation is the key to developing fluency and confidence. I also strive to create a friendly, supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.
Having lived in France, I naturally incorporate cultural insights, real-life situations, and my own experiences into my lessons. I believe that learning a language goes beyond grammar and vocabulary—understanding the culture behind it is equally important, especially for students planning to travel, study, or work in a French-speaking country.
