About Callum
I am a dedicated flute tutor who believes learning music should be inspiring, creative, and enjoyable. My teaching focuses on technical skill, self-expression, and critical thinking. I help students improve tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while encouraging musical exploration. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training to strengthen overall musicianship. Creativity is central to my lessons, including improvisation, composition, and expressive exercises. Accountability ensures students set goals, practise consistently, and track their progress. Mistakes are treated as opportunities for learning and growth. I adapt my teaching methods to each student’s pace, level, and personality. I act as a mentor, offering guidance, motivation, and support in every class.
Lessons are structured yet engaging, balancing technical work with creative challenges. I aim to develop confidence, independence, and a love for music in every student. I also teach related subjects like performance skills, theory, and rhythm. I create a positive, encouraging, and inspiring learning environment. Students are motivated to explore, reflect, and express themselves musically. My goal is to help students perform confidently and creatively while enjoying their musical journey.

My flute teaching method is built on creativity, curiosity, and accountability. I help students explore music in a fun and meaningful way. Each lesson encourages critical thinking and emotional expression. I act as a mentor who guides with care and motivation. Accountability helps students build discipline and confidence. I set small, achievable goals for each week. My lessons include warm-ups, technical practice, and creative exercises. I teach students to listen carefully and understand what they play. We also explore theory, rhythm, and ear training to build a strong base. I make lessons interactive through improvisation and creative games.
My approach is flexible and adapted to every student’s pace. I believe that learning music should be exciting and rewarding. Mistakes are seen as a natural step towards progress. I focus on tone, phrasing, and musical storytelling. I also offer help in related subjects like theory and performance preparation. My goal is to inspire students to love the flute and continue growing as musicians and thinkers.
