About Katherine
I am a CRLA Master Writing Tutor with a year and a half of experience. I have had private students, online students, in-person students, and in-person small groups. I have taught students in Elementary school, Middle school, High School, College, and non-traditional adult college students. I love working with people of all ages. My degree is in History and I teach writing comprehension, English vocabulary, grammar, syntax, and History specific lessons.

My tutoring philosophy is that I am given a special opportunity to teach my student, and because all students learn differently, it is my job to learn how they learn best and to teach them that way. Whether it is teaching grammar to a student who learns with their hands, or to students who learn just fine with lectures, one-on-one tutoring is a time for the student to learn how they learn best.

I have a four-year degree in a related field and a nationally recognized tutoring certification, so my base charge is $30. If you are a teacher or Essential Worker or First Responder, I can offer a reduced rate for you or your student. I do not wish to travel due to the pandemic.
