About Lilly
I am a dedicated Flute tutor with over 17 years of professional teaching experience. I teach High School and College students as well as adults who wish to learn music for personal growth or professional goals. Over the past few years, I have successfully guided around 300 students in improving their flute skills, confidence, and musical understanding. My teaching philosophy is based on patience, motivation, and clear communication. I believe every student learns at their own pace, so I adjust my lessons according to each student’s level, learning style, and goals. Whether a student is a complete beginner or an advanced learner, I make sure the lessons are simple, structured, and enjoyable. I focus strongly on building strong basics such as breathing techniques, finger placement, tone quality, rhythm, and music reading. Along with technical skills, I also help students develop musical expression, stage confidence, and performance skills. I regularly include practice plans, revision sessions, and performance feedback to ensure steady growth. Many of my students have performed confidently in school programmes, college events, and competitions after learning with me. Some have also cleared music exams with good results. Seeing my students grow as musicians is my emphasis. I always create a friendly and encouraging classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My aim is not only to teach the flute but also to help students develop discipline, creativity, and a lifelong love for music.

My teaching methodology for flute is based on Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity. I believe that every student can learn music when they feel encouraged, supported, and confident. I start by understanding the student’s age, skill level, learning speed, and musical interest. This helps me design lessons that are simple, clear, and enjoyable. Motivation plays a big role in my teaching. I always set small goals so students can see their progress step by step. I celebrate every improvement, whether it is a clean note, better breathing, or improved rhythm. This keeps students excited and interested in learning. Communication is very important in flute learning. I explain every concept in simple words and demonstrate it clearly. I encourage students to ask questions freely and share their difficulties without fear. I give regular feedback and guide them on how to practise correctly at home. Integrity means teaching with honesty and discipline. I focus on strong basics like posture, breathing control, finger placement, tone quality, rhythm, and reading music. I make sure students build a solid foundation instead of rushing through lessons. Creativity is added through songs, scales, improvisation, and listening exercises. Students learn how to express emotions through music, not just play notes. Along with flute, I also teach basic music theory, rhythm training, ear training, sight reading, and performance skills. My goal is to make students confident, skilled, and joyful musicians.
