About Marissa
BACKGROUND
I have been teaching American Sign Language since 2011!
3+ years of experience as a teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
I have experience working with children as young as 3 years old to those in the 50+ category.
I have a strong relationship with those in the Deaf community and always looking for ways to grow in my chosen field.
I have graduated from California State University of Northridge with a Deaf Studies Bachelors degree in 2017 as well as recently graduated from the University of Arizona with my Master's degree working with Deaf students from Pre-k to 12th grade.
I am currently up to date with changes in the field of Education and ASL!

The program I use to teach lessons has been approved and endorsed by Gallaudet University and has met the standards for the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). It has also been accepted as an appropriate curriculum by TEKS or the Texas Essential Knowledge standards for Texas High school students. I have a masters and bachelors degree as well as a passing of the ASLPI exam through Gallaudet university. I have been teaching for over a decade.
