About Kate

I have a First Class BA in English Literature from the University of York and a Masters Degree in American Literature from the University of Edinburgh (Merit). I've taught English in China and France, and I have tutored year 6 students in the 11+ Kent Test.

About the lesson

I consider myself to be a patient and understanding teacher, always willing to go over material until my students feel confident with it. I am passionate about my subject which makes for an engaging and positive teaching experience. I am adaptable and able to restructure my lessons to best fit my students as I get to know them as people.

Kate is incredibly dedicated to both the subject of English Literature and education as a whole, shown both by her Masters degree and her efforts to help others learn and develop a passion for her subject. She’s also a lot of fun, and always brings a sense of humour and a non-judgemental, positive attitude to everything she does.
