About Beryl
With over 12 years of teaching experience and professional training in language education, I bring both expertise and passion to every lesson. I hold an advanced TESOL certificate as well as a university-level teaching qualification, and throughout my career I have guided thousands of students toward their goals. Many of them have achieved IELTS band 7.0 overall and even band 9.0 in listening—and I believe you can achieve one day as well. My teaching style is a balance of professional rigor and engaging methods. I enjoy exploring different approaches to make learning not only effective, but also enjoyable. I hold an Advanced TESOL Certificate and a University Tutor Certificate from China, and I am passionate about helping students at all levels achieve their language goals. My approach to tutoring is dynamic and flexible, drawing from a range of strategies including inductive and deductive reasoning, as well as Second Language Acquisition (SLA) theories, to suit learners at different stages of their language journey. This is the first time I’ve had mandarin classes, which impressed me most of Hui’s patience, rich teaching experience, I’d like to keep to my mandarin learning the next years.
The first time I took her class I found she could be very helpful with my pronunciation as she is sensitive to the minute mistake I made and then I could pronounce the words correctly after the instruction.
I like her classes as she could always sense the minute mistakes I made during my speaking practice with her and then I could obviously know what it is and make the corrections immediately then I could make the sound all good.
