About Callum
I completed my Bachelor's Degree with honours, in English Literature, just before the first UK lockdown, and since then I have completed a Masters Degree in the same discipline. I have always had a desire to share my knowledge with others, and am able to tailor my approach to individual students depending on their needs, including those with Autism (I gained a diploma in Autism Awareness last year). Additionally, I am very happy to adapt my teaching approach for those who have mental health conditions, such as anxiety (this could be by allowing the student to have their camera off if it makes them more comfortable)
Education can often seem daunting or inaccessible to some, and it is my desire to change that. We all learn in different ways, and it is down to educators to accommodate this - however, classroom teachers aren't always able to do this due to class sizes. This is where private tutoring comes in.

My approach to teaching is to provide my students with the tools they need to build confidence in their abilities which allows them to feel more comfortable completing independent work. This often comes from reviewing student work and helping them to understand where they can improve, and what steps they need to take to bring their work up to the next grade boundary.
The typical length of a lesson is approx. 1hr however, this could vary depending on the needs of the individual student. I recommend that students submit work prior to teaching sessions, where possible, so that as much time as possible can be devoted to reviewing work and discussing improvements.
I have experience providing support to students at undergraduate level but also, more recently, GCSE level.
My lessons are for students of any age but, as I focus mainly on A-Level and Undergraduate work, this average age would be between 18 and 25yrs old.
