About Yubin
As a tutor, I bring a strong academic and professional background in education, developmental psychology, and language development. I graduated from New York University and am currently pursuing graduate studies at Columbia University in Communicative Sciences and Disorders (Bilingual Program), with a focus on speech and language development.
I have extensive experience working with students across a wide range of ages and academic levels, from early learners to college-level students. With my bilingual background and years of tutoring experience, I am able to support students in both English and academic content in a clear, structured, and encouraging way.

As a tutor, I focus on creating a personalized and supportive learning environment that is tailored to each student’s individual needs, goals, and learning style. I use a bilingual, student-centered approach that emphasizes true understanding rather than memorization, helping students build confidence and long-term academic independence.
A typical lesson with me begins with a brief review of previous material to reinforce understanding, followed by clear instruction of new concepts. I then guide students through practice problems or structured activities, providing feedback throughout the process. Depending on the student, I also incorporate reading comprehension, writing exercises, essay development, and real-world examples to make learning more engaging and meaningful.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my extensive experience working with students across a wide range of ages and academic levels, combined with my academic background in education and developmental psychology from NYU and my current graduate studies at Columbia University in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. This allows me to better understand how students learn, particularly in language development, academic writing, and comprehension skills.
