About Ibrahim
I am a Masters Civil Engineering student at Imperial College London and support many students in getting into top universities. I am a hard worker, and I ensure that my students are working hard and staying motivated to achieve grades that they are proud of. I play many sports, in particular cricket and football, enjoy reading, especially on business and self-development, and involve myself in community work. My experiences have allowed me to develop many skills, including time management and people relations, while also building a large network, which my students also benefit from! My social skills ensure that my students leave satisfied with my work and eager for the next lesson. I have a number of experiences that I am willing to share that will help students in general in academia and shape their path for the next phase of life.

I believe that education MUST be of high quality, and tutoring is an investment into a person's future! I use resources that helped me get an A* in the new exam specifications and helped my previous students achieve top grades too. I have access to more refined topic-specific resources that I use to strengthen my students' mathematical understanding. Practice is what makes perfect, and providing various exam scenarios will ensure that students have covered a broad field of questions. The first 10 minutes will start with a recap of the previous lesson (if first lesson then more of an introduction to myself and an ice-breaker) going through homework and any issues the student faced. In the next 20 minutes, I will explain in detail the topic being taught, i.e., if it were trigonometry, then a step-by-step breakdown of first the theory, followed by the methodology of how to answer exam questions starting at grade 4 and working up to the top grade questions. In this, I will employ active recall techniques to keep the student engaged and prompt questions to solidify their understanding. The next 20 minutes will be spent where the student attempts the questions with me to really start practising the methods learned, as practice makes perfect. If my student requires more help, we can once again go over some further examples and tackle questions together. However, this segment is more student-led. I will teach my students about how to employ effective revision techniques for their exams whilst balancing other aspects of their lives to make the most of studying and playing! I use my social skills and past experience to make the lessons enjoyable and beneficial by giving the opportunity to students to 'role play' as teacher what they have learnt. This not only solidifies their Maths but also improves their confidence and ability to articulate themselves well. Finally, the last 10 minutes will be spent in a role-play scenario where the student plays the teacher role and explains to me how to answer a question to really help solidify their understanding. Sometimes, teaching can be the best way to learn for students, and this has been something that my students in the past have highly valued. This is also an opportunity for students to articulate themselves and learn other soft skills whilst focusing on their maths. Being able to provide high-quality, engaging lessons is key to making strong progress in maths, which is why students have seen 2–3 grade inflation while studying with me. I also provide advice on careers students can go into and give students access to a broad network of professionals that I have developed over the years.
