My teaching philosophy is centred on building confidence and mastery through clarity and connection. I believe that when students understand the "why" behind a concept and see their own progress, their motivation and ability soar. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to equip students with resilient problem-solving skills and a genuine sense of capability. My Techniques & Methodology: Diagnostic Start: We begin with a conversation and a brief review to identify precise knowledge gaps and misconceptions, ensuring no time is wasted. Conceptual Clarity First: I break down complex topics into their fundamental parts, using analogies, visual aids, and real-world examples to make abstract ideas tangible. Interactive & Active Learning: My lessons are dialogues, not monologues. I use guided questioning and worked examples to encourage students to reason through problems themselves, which deepens understanding. Structured Practice: We move from guided practice to independent application, focusing on technique, exam strategy, and identifying patterns in questions. Continuous Feedback: I provide clear, constructive feedback during sessions and consolidate learning with a summary of key takeaways and actionable next steps. Tools I Use: Digital whiteboards (Miro, Jamboard), curated past papers and problem sets, and interactive simulations where relevant.
