About Kate
I’m a violinist and teacher based in London, currently studying on a scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I have been teaching since the beginning of my undergraduate degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. I have been fortunate enough to work at Deptford Green School and the Harris Academy Greenwich, both of which I teach students aged between 11 and 18. I prepare students for exams and performances, and also work with small ensembles.
I have recently taken on the position as Chamber Music Sepcialist at the Young String Experience Saturday School run by the Pro Corda Trust. Chamber music is integral to my teaching, and I encourage students early on to engage in ensemble playing, both in lessons and with other musicians.

I am a Masters student at the Guildhall School of Drama with over 5 years of teaching experience, both privately and in secondary schools. Whether you're preparing for ABRSM or Trinity exams, or looking to explore improvisation, diverse musical genres, and music theory, I offer tailored lessons to suit your needs.
I have an enhanced DBS, with experience teaching from ages 6-18.
I have a 100% exam pass rate, most recently my pupil aged 9 achieved a Grade 8 distinction.
From beginners to advanced players, I provide a supportive environment to help you reach your musical goals.

Perfect! Kate is a great tutor - warn, patient and with an enthusiasm for music that is infectious. Our daughter looks forward to her lessons every week. It’s been incredible to see how quickly she’s progressed, but not surprising given Kate’s skill and talent for teaching.

Kate is a first rate violin teacher - patient, warm, has a good sense of humour and of course is a first rate violinist herself. She is reliable and hardworking and is a brilliant teacher to young violin students. Her lessons are well planned and prepared yet she is able to be flexible and meet the needs of the student as required. She is excellent at encouraging good students to achieve ever greater exam results - from merits to distinctions. She also now has several years of teaching experience under her belt so choosing Kate as a tutor will be a ‘safe pair of hands’.
Highly recommend having lessons with Kate, she adjusts each lesson to suit your specific needs and is a very kind and patient teacher. Her students achieve very high results and thoroughly enjoy their lessons, with many getting top grades in exams and successfully being offered music scholarships. Cannot recommend highly enough!
