About Samantha
I grew up in a very small town in rural Texas before moving to New York after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. I came to Dublin to pursue a master's degree in Archives and Records Management, and have had an absolute blast with my peers. My passion for writing gave me the opportunity to move to different cities and meet incredible people. I’m a true believer in the power of language, whether that be English or the second language I learned during my undergraduate degree, Mandarin! While I finish up my MA at UCD, I miss directly engaging with new people and exploring solutions to obstacles regarding English literature and writing, hence why I am here today!

Hi there! I like to approach tutoring through a student-led, conversational approach that prioritizes the student’s needs. Before moving to Dublin, I worked as a tutor with both master's and bachelor’s students in NYC for over two years. Tutoring ranged from students looking for grammar help or language comprehension to master’s level dissertations and essay writing. Additionally, I’ve worked as a volunteer English teacher to adult language learners, and thus have experience with those learning English as a second language. Lessons can last anywhere from half an hour to an hour. I want the aim of our sessions to be focused on accomplishing student goals rather than filling up time. These lessons are for any student in secondary education or for those in their 4th-6th class of primary school. I look forward to meeting you!
