Hi! I'm Collin. I'm a full-time vocal teacher and coach in New York City. I coach clients all around the United States. My clients come from a variety of backgrounds, including aspiring musicians, professional actors, professional vocalists, and even hobbyists. I've assisted many students in getting accepted to top-tier performance and music education programs, including at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL), New York University (Manhattan, NY), and Luther College (Decorah, IA).
I have extensive stage experience, having performed concerts at the NYC Skirball Center for the Performing Arts with noted music theater composer Alan Menken and conductor Ted Sperling, where I had the privilege of singing "Out There" from "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" for Menken. In the operatic realm, I was blessed to perform in a production of "La bohème" in Michigan under the conducting of maestro Dr. Everett McCorvey. Recently, I performed in Italy in a production of "Les Misérables" at the International Lyric Academy Festival. I love to share what I've learned on stage with my students and help them succeed.
My education:
I graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma City University with 2 Bachelor's degrees (a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice and Music Theater, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science). I received my Master of Music in Vocal Performance at New York University, and also completed the graduate Post-Master's Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy while there. While completing grad school at NYU, I was an Adjunct Instructor who taught acting students at Tisch School of the Arts, and Steinhardt MPAP how to sing and learn music! Additionally, I'm a professional member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
I'm more than simply a music instructor; I'm a coach who helps my students reach their full potential. My studio is welcoming and cognizant that those taught will come from many backgrounds, and that each student will get equality and specificity.

I've been Collin's student for a year now, and I can't recommend him enough! He's incredibly knowledgeable and passionate not just about vocal technique but the science behind it, which brings a unique perspective to his lessons and really elevates his detail-oriented teaching style. He also encourages exploration of different stylistic approaches, and I've really felt my range of repertoire grow during my time with him. As someone who deals with a lot of anxiety and tension in my body, he's been great about creating a welcoming environment for me to release that stress, and is always very encouraging in his feedback!
I came to Collin with about 14 months of prior vocal training and he's been excellent at meeting me where I am. He's particularly good at identifying the root cause of a symptom, and rather than simply correcting the symptom, he explains the mechanism behind it, which helps make the fixes stick. His approach is clearly grounded and informed by vocal science, which I appreciate. Lessons are a good mix of repertoire and technique, and he's clearly put thought into how he sequences the work. Strongly recommend
