About Gareth
I am a student at McGill University studying Physics and Computer Science. I have tutored for 5 years in Math, all of the Sciences and English at all levels ranging from Elementary School to University students, and have gotten positive results from all students I have taught.
My qualifications include a ~95% average from an Ottawa High School, awards in Chemistry and Biology, and certificates from contests in Mathematics and Computer Science.

When I tutor, I try to make my lessons as interactive as possible by asking lots of questions, as I believe that greatly improves knowledge retention. If a question is answered incorrectly, I will work through the answer starting at a very basic level in order to ensure the underlying concepts of the question are well understood. Furthermore, I will try to base my lessons on what my student knows , and try to focus on the more challenging areas of the curriculum with more intricate questions and additional explanations. I believe that placing focus on the more difficult areas is the best way to arrange a tutoring session, as this gives the student more confidence and allows them to answer a wider range of exam questions.
My lessons would be intended for anyone ranging from middle school to high school.
The specific courses I feel confident in teaching include:
Math: Any course ranging from middle school math to Grade 12 calculus, as well as AP Calculus.
Sciences: All science courses up to Grade 12 Chemistry, Physics and Biology, as well as Grade 12 Earth and Space Science.
Computer Science: Anything from introductory program up to ICS4U material. The languages I know best are C, C++ and Java.
