About Arnav
I am a mathematician and data scientist with a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Rutgers University. I work professionally applying linear algebra, statistics, and mathematical modeling to real-world problems every day.
I have helped students at every level, from those seeing matrices for the first time to those working through rigorous proof-based coursework. My goal is simple: to make sure you not only pass your course, but genuinely understand the material. I take your time seriously, come fully prepared to every session, and do not move on until things make sense to you.

My approach:
I believe every student who struggles with math is really just missing one thing: the right explanation. My entire teaching style is built around finding that explanation — the one that makes a concept feel obvious in hindsight rather than arbitrary and intimidating.
Before anything else, I listen. In our first session, I'll ask you where things started feeling unclear, what your class or textbook has covered, and what you've already tried. A typical lesson starts there — diagnosing the real sticking point — then we build back up from first principles, slowly and deliberately, until the fog clears. I use a lot of concrete examples and geometric intuition before introducing formulas, because understanding why something works is what makes it actually stay with you.
What I teach:
I can work with students at any undergraduate level across mathematics and statistics - linear algebra, calculus (single and multivariable), differential equations, probability, statistical inference, real analysis, and more. Whether you're an engineering student trying to pass your matrix methods course, a data science student who wants to actually understand what PCA is doing, or a math major working through proof-based material, I've been there and I can help.
What sets me apart:
I hold a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Rutgers and I work professionally as a data scientist, so I can show you not just how to solve problems on an exam, but where these ideas live in the real world. I've worked through proof-level material, built quantitative models from scratch, and applied linear algebra and statistics in production systems. I bring all of that context into the room.
Most importantly, I don't move on until you're ready to. No rushing, no judgment. Just clear, patient thinking until it clicks.
