About Taya
With over ten years of tutoring experience, I specialize in math content courses. The theme for the work I do is simple: I aim to understand the student before understanding their mathematical knowledge.
I received my Bachelor’s degree from Agnes Scott College. My compassion led me to promote academic success within non-profit organizations. For over two years, I served as a volunteer tutor with the Global Village Project and the Andrew P. Stewart Center. This experience opened the door to transition into math supplemental instruction. I worked within Atlanta Public Schools, technical colleges, and a mental health hospital within the Atlanta Metropolitan area. In each location, I focused on any student who experienced academic struggles.
I believe that learning can be a fruitful journey. “Who” is pouring into you and “what” is being poured in matters. I live this out through the reading, yoga practices, and bonding with close family and friends.
