About Lucy
I am a mathematics teacher with experience of teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5. I have a BSc (Hons) degree in mathematics from Aberystwyth University, and am willing to work primarily with maths, but can offer support with science up to GCSE.
I have supported pupils of all abilities, some of which have improved 3 grades at gcse within a year. I

I believe in wholehearted honesty, between the student, the guardian and myself, and will always welcome feedback. My teaching method is simple but highly effective, I assess what the pupil understands already, then build up from that point, using explanations, examples, and then practice. In the first session I will assess the pupils current capability and with the pupil I agree on topics that will initially be covered, such as problem topics or topics coming up in tests in the near future, then build up to higher grade/level work from that point. I will always offer explanations to the reasons behind the methods that I teach, to develop a better understanding on each topic and how they link together.
