About Nikhil

Who I Am
I am Nikhil Kumar, a dedicated mathematics teacher in one of the prominent secondary schools in Wellington. My background includes serving as a dean for Year 12 and 13 students in Fiji, where I was commended for my performance. I also coach a school sports team, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and discipline.

Why I Want to Teach
Teaching is my passion because it allows me to make a tangible difference in students' lives. I believe in the power of education to transform futures, and I am committed to helping students overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. My goal is to simplify complex mathematical concepts and make learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

About the lesson

Techniques and Methodology
I focus on making mathematics both engaging and accessible. My approach is to simplify complex concepts, breaking them down into manageable steps. I emphasize practical applications and problem-solving techniques, ensuring that students can see the relevance of what they are learning. Interactive lessons, real-life examples, and continuous feedback are integral to my teaching style.

Typical Length of a Lesson
Each lesson typically lasts for 2 hours. This duration allows ample time to cover new material, engage in practice problems, and address any questions or difficulties that students may have.

Qualifications and Experience
I have been tutoring for 5 years and 1 0 years of teaching mathematics in a classroom. Over the years, I have developed a strong understanding of student needs and the most effective strategies to help them succeed.

Target Audience
My lessons cater to students from Year 7 to Year 13, mostly covering Levels 1-3 of the NCEA curriculum. I aim to help students of varying abilities, from those who are struggling with basic concepts to those who are preparing for advanced examinations.
