About Addilyn
I have always been drawn to the logical beauty of mathematics and the way it allows us to understand patterns in the world. This interest led me to pursue a B.Sc in Mathematics Education and dedicate the last six years to teaching students across various academic levels. I genuinely enjoy explaining mathematical concepts in ways that make sense to each learner, and I work patiently to ensure students feel supported throughout their learning journey. Helping students overcome challenges and develop confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. Throughout my teaching experience, I have worked with learners of different ages and backgrounds, supporting them in elementary school math, middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math. Many students start with a fear of math or a belief that they are “not good at it,” and I take pride in showing them that with the right guidance, they can improve steadily. I break down complex ideas into simple parts, use relatable examples, and make sure students understand each topic before moving forward. Outside of teaching, I spend time exploring new instructional techniques, solving math puzzles, and developing practice materials that help students stay engaged. These activities help me grow as an educator and bring fresh clarity to my lessons. I approach every session with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help learners succeed academically and personally. My goal is always to create a calm, supportive environment where students feel capable and motivated to grow.

My Maths lessons begin with building strong foundations in elementary school math, where students learn core skills such as arithmetic, number sense, place value, early fractions, and basic problem-solving. I take time to explain each idea clearly, using simple language and gentle examples to help learners feel confident rather than overwhelmed. This stage focuses on making math feel approachable and understandable, especially for students who may have struggled in their earlier years.
As we progress, students move into middle school math, where we deepen their understanding of expressions, equations, ratios, proportions, introductory algebra, and basic geometry. I guide learners through each topic using a step-by-step method that helps them recognize patterns and understand why certain procedures work. This middle stage helps students develop stronger reasoning skills, better mathematical habits, and the confidence to attempt more abstract and complex tasks.
For advanced learners or those preparing for exams, I offer focused instruction in higher algebra, deeper geometry, modeling problems, and targeted strategies for SAT math. Students learn how to approach multi-step questions, break down word problems logically, and apply formulas with clarity. I also help them practice time management and test techniques to build both speed and accuracy. My goal is to ensure that students not only improve academically but also gain lasting confidence in their mathematical abilities.
