About Syed
Hi everyone, I'm Syed, and I'm a third-year medical student. Being an individual who has been tutoring since college, I know the ins and outs of the academic system, and have picked up a lot of tips and tricks on how to ace your exams (which I'll be passing on to my lucky students). Becoming a tutor is a natural extension of my passion for education and my desire to empower others to succeed. Being a medical student, I've had to constantly adapt to different pressures, which have in turn tailored me into a very productive and knowledgeable individual. But the difference is that I have also learnt how to pass on this knowledge in the most effective manner. Medicine was something I loved from a young age, because I've always had a sense of satisfaction when helping others. That's why my passion for tutoring coincides with my medical passion, because I get the same sense of satisfaction when helping my students. I've always found a sense of fulfilment when my students are able to tackle, persevere, and take down difficult questions and I love to see how far an individual comes from when they started. Now I know some may hear the word tutor and think boring, but I'm different. I have fun whilst teaching, and my students get to enjoy their time whilst becoming academic geniuses. I know that every single one of my students has the ability to excel, and that it's up to me to unlock the potential that I see in my students, which I will do to the utmost of my ability.

We will start off with an initial meeting where we can introduce ourselves and get to know what you would like to get out of the tutoring sessions. This will include understanding what you have been taught, what you're struggling with, and what you'd like to get out of these sessions whether that's confidence, academic improvement etc. I will then try to understand which learning best suits you whether that's through models, labelled pictures and diagrams, real world examples etc. To end the meeting, we will identify key objectives that we want to meet by the end of our sessions together. Once this is done, we will begin our tutoring sessions together. This will involve self-made PowerPoint tailored to the current specification with over 5 years of experience. They will include key definitions, exam tips, and what examiners are looking for. As we go through the slides, there will be questions to test your knowledge and approach integrated in, whether that's multiple choice, active recall, or a broken down exam question to go through. I will then provide model answers to improve your exam approach. At the end of the session, there will be a quiz covering the slides. Anything you struggle with, we can recap and focus the session on. The following session will start with a recap of the previous session to ensure a great foundation of academic knowledge. At the end, we will go through the objectives created at the start and ensure they are met to a high standard. Because I get the same sense of satisfaction when helping my students. I've always found a sense of fulfilment when my students are able to tackle, persevere, and take down difficult questions and I love to see how far an individual comes from when they started.
