About Shahd
I am an aspiring health care professional with a love for tutoring, I started tutoring family, friends and neighbors and soon after it was people in my community. I discovered a love for teaching through these opportunities and I hope I can continue doing it for years later. I currently tutor biology and Math. I also tutor MMI/Panel interview tutor for undergraduates across the country.

I used to hate math and had no understanding of it, until someone sat down with me and spent hours helping me understand an equation that seemed impossible to solve. I wish to fulfill that role for you. Same thing with biology, just for me to graduate from an undergraduate major that 90% of it is human anatomy and biology. What tutoring sessions with me look like: - We specify which topics you need help on prior to the tutoring session; I do my own prep and you come with your question, no prep on your end other than assigned classroom work. - If there is a technique of teaching that you find works for you, I will accommodate to fit that. I want to help you fall in love with those subjects like I did, continuous changes during the sessions are always welcome until you find what works best for you. - Break down each lesson/unit into sections, which you understand the most and which you understand the least. - Go over each topic/lesson until you have attained full understanding of it - Do multiple practice questions until I see that you are confident in your knowledge, even with the topics you fully understand and we did not discuss during the session. - I used to not like any of the science topics and shy away from asking questions. Now that I know how that feels like, I ask you more questions to help facilitate active retention and learning. - I will give feedback at the end of each session, and if there is a need to assign further work, I will tell you so. I will also ask for feedback for myself, what worked best, what I could improve on, etc.

Perfect! Shahd has been my tutor for a few sessions now and I look forward to many more. Personable, professional, intelligent and well spoken, Shahd takes the time to look through course material and create lessons in which she's extremely encouraging. For me to even come up with a negative critique would take more brainpower than I've used for a whole unit's worth of lessons.
