About Sara
I bring professional training and years of teaching experience to every lesson, while keeping the environment warm, encouraging, and age-appropriate. With an MFA in Painting and experience teaching at both the collegiate and early childhood levels, I understand how to balance structure with creativity.
I began formal art training later than many of my peers, which shaped how I teach today. I know what it feels like to learn step by step, and I firmly believe that art is a skill that can be developed with guidance and practice. This perspective helps me support young artists with patience and clarity, building confidence gradually and intentionally.
My students have gone on to pursue art more seriously, whether through specialized programs, portfolio development, exhibitions, or continued study. Just as importantly, they leave with stronger focus, problem-solving skills, and pride in their work.
For younger students especially, my priority is to create a space where they feel safe to try, make mistakes, ask questions, and grow. Skill development is important, but so is protecting their sense of curiosity and joy.

Art doesn’t have to be scary. I offer private art lessons for beginners through advanced students who want real skills without the pressure or intimidation. We build strong technical foundations, sharpen your eye, and develop creative confidence step by step. Mistakes are part of the process, questions are always welcome, and growth happens naturally through steady practice and thoughtful guidance. Whether you are just starting out, building a portfolio, or returning to art after years away, lessons are tailored to your goals and pace. You will leave each session feeling more capable and genuinely excited to keep creating.
