Perfect! Samir is an incredibly knowledgeable and patient professional. He has worked with me to get through many of the learning obstacles and i have seen a very big difference from the time i first began until now (it has been about 3-4 months and i can consider myself intermediate. With him i have learned how to read music, worked on timing, the different scales etc. if you are looking for a very experienced and professional teacher, i would 10/10 recommend him.

Perfect! My brother and I signed up for our first class with Samir 5 months ago. Since then, we have been consistent in weekly classes and have gained enormous confidence and skill in Oud. There’s more than one thing to say about Samir and his class:

1. Samir is incredibly skilled at what he does. He has mastered Oud in a way most wouldn’t even think is possible. From middle eastern folksong, tunes, and maqamat to western scales and compositions and even far beyond, his knowledge in music is boundless and inspiring.
2. Samir is also incredibly friendly and a great guy to have class with. Even though our classes are held virtually, we still feel the positive energy and good vibes that are essential in every Oud class. Playing Oud should be a way to express emotion and felt in the heart, not something which someone dreads to do. Samir wonderfully cultivates this energy in his class, and we always look forward to attending his classes.
3. Samir also challenges his students, which is an extremely important aspect of his class. It is never enough for my brother and I to be content with playing only a few songs or feel as if we aren’t truly learning. This is why when we searched for a Oud instructor, we needed someone like Samir who could always pull the right strings to allow us to grow. Samir also writes all the sheet music he teaches us himself and has great compositions.
4. Despite Samir’s tight schedule as a teacher and musician, he is very flexible with his students. We greatly appreciate this from him, because we always have something unexpected going on in our household.
Overall, Samir is a great instructor, one whom I would give 1000/5 stars if I was able to. If you are looking for an instructor who will help you grow your skill in Oud and inspire you to greatness, I strongly recommend to take a class with Samir.
