About Reed
Moon Magnet isn’t your typical music school.
We’re an artist-run community of musicians, producers, and creative thinkers based in Denver, and we’re obsessed with helping students make wild, weird, and wonderful music.
We’ve taught hundreds of students across all ages and skill levels, and our unique approach mixes technical growth with fun and collaboration. Music is a playground, a passport, and a portal to creative confidence.
What is Moon Magnet?
Moon Magnet is a music school, mixing/mastering studio, & DJ entertainment company in Denver, CO founded in 2013. With Moon Magnet you can learn how to produce music with one of our many engineers, release your music in 90 days, or learn to play an instrument and perform at concerts. Our education is accessible online and in person at your house (our teachers drive to you).
Since receiving the Meow Wolf Grant two consecutive years, we've undertaken a number of exciting new projects, including the release of our first cassette compilation tape (Moon Magnet Volume IV). Some of our members are product innovators and have collaborated with Meow Wolf to bring Moon Water to Meow Wolf’s Convergence Station (Denver) and Omega Mart (Las Vegas). Moon Magnet band, déCollage, was invited to create a 10min soundtrack for a room called Ruptured Time at Meow Wolf Denver. Moon Magnet is a place where artists can be themselves and express freely.
We strive to inspire musicians to try new things and gravitate to their sound. Moon Magnet started as an artist collective with a lot of branches; it’s an umbrella with a multiverse of people under it. We’ve created surrealistic music videos & films that have premiered on the big screen, as well as launching a Moon Magnet showcase at Alamo Drafthouse, which debuted with songwriter Esmé Patterson. With our desire for providing imaginative experiences and our love for bringing people together, we’ve had the honor of hosting unusual Moon Magnet showcases at UMS every year since 2013. Moon Magnet's also been lucky enough to travel across the country and build unique art installations at music festivals like FORM Arcosanti, The UMS, Desert Daze {collaborating with Adult Swim} & art spaces like Museum of Contemporary Art & The Understudy at Denver Center of Performing Arts.
More than 100 students take weekly lessons with our 30 experienced teachers. We specialize in teaching all ages and levels, creating a supportive and inspiring space to learn music.
Moon Magnet Music School is dedicated to nurturing creativity, building confidence, and helping students find their unique musical voice.
