I've known Pawan Kumar since Jan 2016 as an undergraduate student at the Vellore Institute of Technology where I've been an Associate Professor since Jun 2011. I taught him an elective course on “Stem Cell Technology” during which time I had multiple opportunities to observe and assess him. I have known Pawan for the last five years as we studied together at university for our undergraduate degree. He is a hardworking and determined individual. I have seen him teach Biology to underprivileged students between grades IX and XII in the neighbourhood we lived in during our undergraduate days.
