I met Erin just over a decade ago ; she was my drama teacher for A-Level drama . She undoubtedly changed my life . She is the reason I’m still acting . Her engrained love and talent for the arts , and genuine care for her students excelling , is second to none . Her infectious joy, gift for playwriting and kind spirit will leave any student a better writer, and even more , a fuller person !
I am writing to express my sincere appreciation and recommendation for my former A Level Drama teacher Erin, whose impact on my creative journey has been foundational.
At a time when I was still discovering my voice and direction, she recognised something in me before I fully saw it in myself. Her guidance extended far beyond the classroom. She actively opened doors, directing me towards opportunities such as the BFI Film Academy and connecting me with work at Watford Palace Theatre. These experiences were pivotal, giving me early exposure to the industry and shaping my understanding of what a creative career could look like in practice.
What truly set her apart was her genuine influence as both a mentor and a role model. She created an environment where I felt safe to explore, take risks, and grow. Her warmth, care, and belief in me gave me the courage to pursue my ambitions seriously, rather than seeing them as distant or unrealistic. She instilled a level of confidence and determination that has stayed with me to this day.
She didn’t just teach drama, she nurtured people. She treated my ambitions as valid and worth pursuing, and that had a profound effect on how I approach both my craft and my life.
Her support helped lay the groundwork for the path I am now on as a creative, and I can say with certainty that without her influence, my journey would have looked very different.
She is an educator who genuinely changes lives, and I am a direct example of that.I’d really recommend Erin as a tutor. I was one of her students, and she honestly made such a difference for me. She explains things in a way that actually makes sense, provides resources for everything you can imagine, and she’s super patient if you don’t get something straight away.
She’s also really supportive and easy to talk to, which made lessons feel a lot less stressful and way more enjoyable. Because of her style of teaching, it’s nothing like any other. She really is a special educator. I felt so much more confident in my work because of her.
I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a great tutor.
— Nicholas WilliamsI have had the privilege of working with Erin multiple times working in theatre and comedy. She is one of the cleverest and funniest writers you will ever meet but she also has a deep understanding of structure, pacing and character. In addition to being a brilliant playwright, she’s also a brilliant teacher with a passion for inspiring emerging talent, shaping minds and sharing her love of theatre. I directed Erin’s brilliant five-star, two-time EdFringe sellout Bad Teacher and we share a theatre company and an award winning comedy duo together. She’s also an award winning playwright in her own right, does standup and spoken word in addition to being a drama teacher. Truly there is no one better suited to tutoring you in playwriting! Hire her immediately.
I know Erin as my A Level Drama teacher, who taught me throughout my studies. She was an excellent teacher who genuinely supported her students and helped build both their skills and confidence.
Erin is a Superprof tutor in Drama and Theatre Studies, and she combines strong subject knowledge with an encouraging, approachable teaching style. She makes complex performance and theory work easy to understand and engaging.
One memorable experience was during our devised performance process, where Erin guided us from early ideas through to a finished piece. She gave constructive feedback throughout and encouraged creativity while helping us stay focused and structured.
I would recommend Erin to other Superprof members because she creates a positive, supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking creative risks. She is patient, inspiring, and highly effective at helping learners improve and gain confidence.Erin was my teacher for A-level Drama and is one of the reasons I fell in love with Theatre! I went on to apply and complete a BA in Theatre, under her guidance, and have since worked as a lighting and sound technician and have progressed to a stage manager. I have also been lucky enough to see Erin’s own work and she is nothing short of a genius!
Erin was my Drama teacher at 6th form. I did not pick drama in GCSE but my best friend had her as a teacher and told me how fun Drama was and how amazing Erin teaches, not just that but she makes the lessons very fun too.
As my ex teacher, Erin was the one who engaged us to push our achievements further, she gave us advice and lessons that me and my classmates took with us until now. I never expected to love Drama and that was all because of Erin, not only did she make everything so easy for me to understand the topics we studied but she also gave me honest opinions on how to make my paragraphs and performances better. In result, I got higher than my target grade for A-Levels, which I never expected to get.
An experience we shared together that I will never forget is the last lesson we had with Erin. It was an emotional, fun and exciting lesson, we learned so many context but at the same time we discussed our futures and what it'd be like not to do Drama with Erin anymore. Honestly, the thought of it made all of us teary because as a class of 5 students and a teacher, we all shared a bond that I could never imagine having with the other teachers I had.
I recommend Erin to other superprof members because she will make sure everything is near to perfect, understood by the students well and will also give you an honest opinion on how to improve. All of this will result to a greater mark and amazing experience to have Erin as a teacher.Erin is one of the best teachers I have come across. She was my teacher throughout Years 11–13, and I can’t thank her enough for helping me reach my full potential. She’s extremely organised and enthusiastic about teaching, and you can really tell when someone truly loves what they do. I think her passion really reflected in the way she taught me, as throughout the years I was consistently achieving top grades thanks to her guidance and support !!!!
