About Maya
I am an independent music teacher at the Camps Bay Primary. I am also an arranger and music teacher for the Handevat Music Project. I completed my TEFL Certificate in 2020, and my BMus degree in 2015. I am passionate about mentoring and helping people through education. I enjoy meeting new people and building friendships. A common language brings people together, and where language fails music speaks!

Learning music and languages is very similar. Repetition and attention to detail is key. It needs to become apart of you and I am here to help! As a person I am friendly and creative. It is important to me to ensure that my teaching is optimal for each student's specific needs. I am a responsible, hard-worker and like to inspire my students to be the same through leading by example. Dedicated practicing of music skills builds patience, dedication and commitment. I am also never too old to learn and always try to take part in masterclasses and courses where possible. In that way I can make sure that I am the best musician and teacher I can be.
