About Joe
Joe started his music journey at a very young age, since primary school. Joe obtained his degree of Bachelor of Arts in Music Studies from Hong Kong Baptist University, learning from Tim Wilson and Izaskun Erdocia. Not only classical music, but being a member of Parsons Wind Orchestra, a concert band organised by one of the biggest music institutions, Parsons Music, in Hong Kong, Joe also had chances to work with pop singers and bands in Hong Kong, such as Ivana Wong and Kolor.

Joe will help you become an all-rounded classical woodwind player. Performance skills are central to his teaching. As a beginner, you will be taught how to make a great sound, read music scores, play with correct fingerings and rhythm, through MAKING MUSIC. As a more experienced learner, you can enhance your skills under Joe’s coaching, including learning new pieces of music with great expression and interpretation. Of course, if you have certain targets like taking grade exams or participating in competitions, Joe can tailor-make the lessons for your goals. To get the most out of Joe’s teaching, it is recommended to take a 45min or 60min lesson weekly, together with daily practice (not necessarily long, but having a routine of practice). In the last 10 years, Joe worked as a professional music tutor in Hong Kong, giving in-person lessons to students of all ages, from beginners to advanced players. In the recent few years, Joe also had experience teaching online. Although in-person lessons are preferred, Joe also offers online lessons.
