About Isla
I am currently a Secondary school music teacher. I previously studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland studying the Music Teaching course with Bagpipes as my 1st instrument. I have been teaching for over 7 years now and have a range of experience from primary and secondary classroom as well as asn. I teach a range of classroom instruments from keyboard to drum kit as well as one to one lessons teaching bagpipes. I am trained in additional support needs teaching/approaches as I currently work in the asn sector.

My teaching method is based on a climbing frame. I feel it is important to have a structure for pupils/ students to follow that allows them to build on their past and current achievements to allow them to continue to improve and grow as a player. I aim to keep lessons fun and interesting and do this by using active learning techniques.
