About Deborah
During my college and graduate studies, I studied general music but spent much time on piano, flute, and choral conducting. I greatly enjoyed making music fun for all those that I had the privilege of working with. My major was Music Education; my BA was in Choral Conducting. I have also spent much time writing and arranging music and selling sheet music online. Teaching students to write music is something I have also enjoyed doing over the years.

I choose a curriculum best suited for the age and level of understanding that the student has, and supplement the curriculum with additional sheet music and the teaching of various scales and chords not standard to all curriculum. A typical lesson will include a new concept, application of the concept in one or multiple songs, and the reviewing of a 5-finger scale or octave scale. Students who practice regularly learn to be good note-readers and to recognize chords not only on the staff but also by chord symbol and by ear.
