About Andre
My mother is a teacher, so I guess you could say it has always been in my blood. The first time I started teaching was in high school through the tutoring program that they offered. We would teach various subjects (I mostly tutored English or Afrikaans) to the children at the primary school next to ours. I also ran the creative writing club as well as the newspaper at our school where I would help other students improve their English writing. My love and passion for writing eventually led me to a film school where I am pursuing a writing degree.

My biggest problem with being taught was always that I found that as soon as I saw that the person teaching had no interest in what they were teaching (e.g. simply reading from a textbook - something that I could very easily do myself) I would very quickly lose interest. When I could tell that they cared about what they were telling me and the teacher provides interesting and insightful input to a topic I find it is much easier to pay attention. Keeping this in mind, I always try and find interesting and unique ways to teach people things.
