About Isobel
I love tutoring because I’ve seen how quickly progress can happen when learning feels supportive, clear, and tailored to the individual—and that love of teaching really began when I taught children in Romania, where I learned how to explain ideas simply, stay patient, and make lessons engaging for different ages and abilities. Since then, I’ve been motivated by the same goal: helping students strengthen their reading and writing skills, build self-belief, and walk into exams feeling prepared, organised, and proud of what they can do.

My tutoring approach is calm, encouraging, and very exam-focused: as someone who achieved all A*s in national exams, I know exactly what examiners are looking for and how marks are won and lost. We’ll work on the skills that make the biggest difference under timed conditions—planning quickly, writing clear introductions and strong topic sentences, using evidence/quotes effectively, and finishing with a confident, relevant conclusion. I’ll teach you simple structures you can reuse across questions, plus revision methods that actually stick (targeted vocab, model paragraphs, and deliberate practice with past-paper style prompts). You’ll get kind but honest feedback, and every session ends with clear next steps so you feel prepared, organised, and ready to walk into your exam knowing what to do.
