Perfect! I grew up taking Spanish classes in school, but Carito is the best Spanish teacher I've ever had and I'm so lucky I found her.

I grew up in the U.S. to an American father and a Colombian mother, so I understand a lot of Spanish, but I don't speak it well. So, I was looking for a tutor to help me become fluent from someone formally educated/trained in teaching language.

Carito has lesson plans organized, so if you're looking for something more structured, she can do that. She assigns homework and everything. However, what I've really enjoyed is just having conversations with her. I feel like it's a very organic way to learn because I'm practicing speaking to her like I'd speak to anyone, but she's correcting my grammar, my conjugations etc. This has really helped build my confidence to speak and is more helpful than what I learned in school, which was just random sentences that no one really needs like "Where is the library", for example.

Something really important to me was learning more about Colombia, and I've learned so much from her. But if that's not your thing, she can teach a class just like if you were sitting in school. I love that she adapts to whatever learning style works best for the student.

Carito has traveled to so many places so she has such amazing insight. I feel like I'm learning more from her than just Spanish. Our lessons just feel like two friends catching up, and I look forward to meeting with her every week.

I would recommend her tutoring to anyone looking to learn Spanish, whether they're a beginner or someone more advanced that's looking to work on their fluency, slang, and/or accent.
