About Mike
I lived in Brazil until my teenage years. I then moved to London and have been here ever since.
I don’t have experience teaching language formally, but I have taught and lead workshops with many different people of all background and age group.
I plan to teach you to speak Portuguese in the same way I taught a person who had never read in English out loud in their life to read a full beautiful poem in front of 20 other supportive people.
I am also really hoping to get a lot of feedback and a chance to know what your goals and ambitions are. That way we can maybe help each other.

I believe that more than grammar and the literary side of the language, I will be able to show you techniques and tricks to hopefully enhance your fluidity and confidence in yourself when speaking, reading or expressing yourself in Portuguese.
I am a big believer in confidence. If you are confident and feel comfortable with a set of words and phrases you can talk to anyone, you just need to know how to mix it up and adapt, adding new key words related to the specific topic every now and again.
What I plan to show you is how to break through the embarrassment barrier and how to speak as well as you do in your head if that’s the level you’re at:)
