About Fan
Hi Fan here. I am from mainland China and now live in Hong Kong. I have a BA in Chinese language and literature and a MA in Advertising at CUHK.
I am certified with 2A in the mandarin proficiency test and have 4 years of experience in teaching Chinese (Mandarin) to English speakers. I have taught over 40 adult students in various formats, such as 1-1 private lessons, onsite group classes, and online private lessons. In addition, I also teach Mandarin to kids and teenagers based in Hong Kong. Currently, I work as a part-time teacher in several Chinese learning centers in HK.
I am someone who is passionate about life and constantly developing new interests. I am a writer, dancer, instructor, content creator, and storyteller.

In general, the lesson is tailor-made. If you are an absolute beginner, I will mainly use the HSK textbooks with additional handouts. Usually, it takes 40 lessons to finish HSK1 & 2. Homework will be assigned for each lesson. Teaching materials may be changed after HSK3 according to your goals and levels. I also offer intensive courses.
For advanced students, the lesson is tailor-made with customized handouts. I can teach practical oral or business mandarin for specific industries. I have working experience as a Chinese copywriter and a strategic planner in the marketing industry for 3 years. If you are advanced enough to learn classical Chinese, I can also help you with that.
The conversational lessons are topic-based. For each topic, we will use 2-4 lessons to go through the selected vocabularies, read related articles or news, and conduct the conversations (such as role play, presentation, etc.).
